Coliving in Fuerteventura, Spain
Coworksurf · A network of coliving homes at the world's best surf breaks
The Home
Coworksurf
Coworksurf is a coliving network built around the surf lifestyle, placing remote workers in community homes at the world’s best breaks — from Fuerteventura and Peniche to Canggu, Taghazout, and Lofoten. Founded in 2016, it has grown to a community of more than 3,500 nomads across dozens of locations, all connected through a shared ethos of combining productive remote work with serious time in the water.
The Experience
The structure at each Coworksurf location follows a similar rhythm: mornings often start with an early surf before the wind picks up, then a full working day in the coliving’s coworking setup, and evenings shared with housemates. Most stays run one to four weeks. Booking one Coworksurf property gives instant access to the wider online community and local WhatsApp groups for the destination — so arriving solo doesn’t mean arriving without context.
Each house is run by a local host — some surfers themselves, others experienced coliving operators — who organize group activities and handle the day-to-day logistics. Surf lessons, board rentals, and connections to local instructors are typically arranged on request. The tone across the network is relaxed but productive: Coworksurf hosts a community with enough shared identity that strangers quickly find common ground.
The Space
Properties across the network vary by location and host, but all meet minimum standards for coworking: reliable high-speed internet (speeds at listed properties range from 50 Mbps to 800 Mbps depending on location), a dedicated workspace, and private or shared bedrooms. Most properties include a shared kitchen and common areas designed for both work and social time. Pricing runs from €1,100 to €2,500 per month depending on room type and destination. Fuerteventura and Canggu, Bali are two of the most popular chapters.
Who It’s For
Coworksurf is for remote workers who surf — or want to learn — and who want the productivity of a proper coliving alongside genuine access to waves. It suits people who find standard digital nomad accommodation too isolated and prefer a ready-made community of like-minded people. Stays of one week are possible, though most guests stay longer to get the full rhythm of surf, work, and community. With locations across Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America, the network supports nomads on multi-continent itineraries.
Location Highlights
Current locations span Morocco (Taghazout), Portugal (Peniche, Ericeira, Sagres), Spain (Tenerife, Conil, Fuerteventura), Indonesia (Canggu), Mexico (Puerto Escondido), Ecuador (Montañita), Sri Lanka (Ahangama), Norway (Lofoten), and beyond. Each location is chosen for wave quality as much as for livability — the network doesn’t list destinations simply because they’re popular with nomads.

Workspace
Work with a Multiple Locations Rhythm
Varies by location connection · 50–800 Mbps
All properties meet minimum coworking standards: reliable high-speed internet (50–800 Mbps depending on location), a dedicated workspace, and common areas designed for both work and social time.
The Vibe
The day usually starts with a surf check — whoever's up first reports back on conditions, and an early crew hits the water before work. By 9-10 AM the coworking area is full. Lunch is self-organized, often a group run to a nearby spot. Late afternoons see a second surf window when conditions and schedules allow. Evenings are shared meals in the house kitchen, swapping stories about the day's waves and project deadlines.
Weekends vary by location — in Fuerteventura it's road trips to remote beaches, in Bali it's temple visits and rice terrace hikes, in Portugal it's coastal drives and seafood lunches in fishing villages. The local host at each property knows the area and points people in the right direction.
Living in Multiple Locations
Coworksurf doesn't bet on a single destination — the network spans from the Atlantic swells of Portugal and the Canary Islands to Bali's reef breaks and Morocco's right-hand points. Each location is chosen because the waves are good and the living is practical for remote workers.
Fuerteventura is one of the most popular chapters: consistent Atlantic swell, 300+ sunny days, European time zone, and cheap flights. Canggu in Bali offers warm water, a massive nomad scene, and rice-paddy sunsets. Peniche and Ericeira in Portugal deliver world-class surf within an hour of Lisbon. Taghazout in Morocco is the winter escape — endless right-handers, tagine for dinner, and a cost of living that makes everything else feel expensive.
The point of the network is flexibility. Stay at one house for a month, then move to another location and the community context follows you — the WhatsApp groups, the introductions, the shared culture. It's the closest thing to a surf-focused nomad infrastructure that exists.
Surf the Local Breaks
Every Coworksurf house is positioned near quality waves. The host knows the lineup, the tides, and which break works best on which swell direction. Boards and wetsuits are available to rent.
Explore the Coast
Locations are chosen for coastline access — whether that's the volcanic shores of Fuerteventura, the limestone cliffs of Sagres, or the black-sand beaches of Bali.
Connect with the Network
Booking one property gives you access to the wider Coworksurf community — 3,500+ nomads across dozens of locations. Local WhatsApp groups, event invitations, and introductions at your next stop.

Tips vary by location. For Fuerteventura: fly into FUE, rent a car (essential). For Bali: fly into DPS, grab a scooter. For Portugal: Lisbon (LIS) then drive or bus to the coast. Founders & Local Hosts
We started this because we were tired of choosing between good waves and good WiFi. Turns out a lot of other people were tired of it too.

Common Questions
What's the WiFi like?
50-800 Mbps depending on location. Every property meets a minimum standard for remote work — tested for video calls and reliable uploads. Portugal and Canary Islands tend to have the fastest connections; Southeast Asia and Morocco are solid but vary.
What's included in the price?
Room (shared or private), dedicated workspace, shared kitchen, and common areas. Community events and surf-related activities are organized by the local host. Meals, surf lessons, and equipment rental are separate.
How do I get there?
Depends on the location. Each host sends detailed travel instructions after booking. In general: fly to the nearest international airport, then local transport (rental car, bus, or scooter) to the property. The host can often coordinate arrivals if multiple guests land on the same day.
Do I need to know how to surf?
Not at all. Complete beginners are welcome — the host can connect you with local instructors and rental shops. That said, the community skews toward people who surf or are actively learning. If you have zero interest in the ocean, a different coliving might be a better fit.
Can I stay at multiple locations?
Yes, and many guests do. Book one property, finish your stay, then move to another Coworksurf house in a different country. The community context carries over — your WhatsApp groups, your connections, your reputation in the network.
