The Vibe
Early morning yoga or a walk through the rice terraces before the heat kicks in. Into the open-air coworking pavilion by 9 — you're working with tropical birds and palm trees as your backdrop. Lunch is at one of Ubud's incredible warungs (2-4 USD for a full meal). Afternoons blend work and exploration. Evenings are communal — fire ceremonies, group dinners, or drinks at a rooftop bar.
Temple visits at Tirta Empul, rice terrace hikes in Tegallalang, motorbike trips to waterfalls, surf day trips to Canggu, or Mount Batur sunrise hikes.
Living in Ubud, Bali
Ubud is Bali's cultural heart — temples, rice terraces, galleries, and a spiritual intensity that either grabs you or doesn't. It's not a beach town (the coast is 45 minutes south), which self-selects for a different crowd than Canggu or Seminyak. People come to Ubud for yoga, creative work, and a pace that's slower than Bali's party south.
The nomad infrastructure is mature: dozens of cafes with fast WiFi, coworking spaces, healthy food restaurants, and a community that's been building since 2012. Costs are low: a warung lunch is 25,000-40,000 IDR (1.50-2.50 USD), a good cafe meal 50,000-80,000 IDR, and a nice dinner 100,000-200,000 IDR. Scooter rental is 60,000-80,000 IDR/day. The monkey forest, water temples, and rice terraces provide daily beauty that never gets old — even if the traffic on Monkey Forest Road might.
Tegallalang Rice Terraces
The iconic stepped rice paddies 20 minutes north of Ubud. Best visited early morning before the Instagram crowds arrive.
Mount Batur Sunrise
A 2-hour hike to the summit of an active volcano for sunrise views over the caldera lake. Starts at 2am, worth every lost hour of sleep.
Tirta Empul Water Temple
A sacred spring temple where Balinese Hindus come for ritual purification. You can participate in the bathing ceremony — bring a sarong and an open mind.

The Outpost Team
Founders
We opened in 2015 because we believed remote work should happen in inspiring environments, not grey offices. The open-air pavilion surrounded by rice paddies isn't a gimmick — it genuinely changes how you think and work.

Common Questions
What's the WiFi like?
100 Mbps at the coworking space — reliable by Bali standards. The open-air pavilion has backup connections. For critical calls, test your spot first.
What's included in the price?
Room, coworking access, WiFi, community events, and wellness programming. Meals are separate — but eating in Ubud is extremely affordable.
How do I get there?
Fly to Bali (DPS), then arrange a private driver to Ubud — 1-2 hours depending on traffic, about 20-25 USD. Pre-book rather than relying on Grab at the airport.
Is it open-air? What about rain?
The coworking pavilion is covered but open-sided — tropical breezes flow through. During rain (mostly November-March), it's covered and comfortable. The sound of rain on a Balinese roof is actually great for focus.
Do I need a scooter?
Yes, unless you want to walk everywhere slowly or pay for Grab rides constantly. Scooter rental is cheap (60,000-80,000 IDR/day) and gives you freedom to explore the area.
