Work with a Lisbon, Portugal Rhythm
Coworking included with reliable internet.
The Vibe
Mornings are for focused work in the coworking studio — coffee from the machine, headphones on. Afternoons might mean a neighbourhood walk through Alfama or a workshop in the common area. Evenings bring shared meals, movie nights, or drinks on the terrace.
Day trips to Sintra or Cascais, exploring Lisbon's flea markets and miradouros, or catching live fado in Alfama.
Living in Lisbon, Portugal
Lisbon has earned its reputation as one of Europe's best cities for remote workers. The light alone is worth the trip — golden afternoons that make everything look like a film set. Add 300 days of sunshine, a mature cafe culture, and a cost of living that's still manageable by Western European standards (though rising fast).
The city runs on espresso ($0.80 at any pastelaria), pastéis de nata, and a pace of life that resists the hustle culture of northern Europe. Neighbourhoods vary dramatically: Alfama is medieval lanes and fado bars, Príncipe Real is boutiques and brunch, Santos is nightlife, and LX Factory is the creative hub in a converted industrial complex.
The NHR tax regime has drawn thousands of remote workers, though recent changes have made it less generous. Fibre internet is widespread (200-500 Mbps standard), and the cafe-coworking scene is one of the best in Europe. Most nomads on European time zones find Lisbon hard to leave.
Sintra day trip
Fairytale palaces and forested hills 40 minutes from Rossio station by train ($5 return). Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira, and the Moorish Castle are all walkable.
Sunset at Miradouro da Graça
Grab a beer from the kiosk and watch the sun set over the Tagus with the whole city spread below you. Free, and better than any rooftop bar.
Mercado da Ribeira (Time Out Market)
The best of Lisbon's food scene under one roof — from ceviche to croquetas. Good for a solo lunch or a group dinner exploring different stalls.
