PipeDream · Surf coliving with music studio in Portugal's wave capital

Up to 16 guests Apr – Jun 2026 100 Mbps Coworking Since 2021

PipeDream

PipeDream is a coliving in Peniche, Portugal’s surf capital and home to the WSL Championship Tour stop at Supertubos. What sets it apart: a fully equipped music studio alongside the usual coworking and surf setup.

The Experience

Peniche is where Portuguese surf culture lives. World-class waves within cycling distance, a fishing-town atmosphere that hasn’t been gentrified, and some of the best seafood in Portugal. PipeDream adds a creative layer with its music studio — residents include producers, musicians, and artists alongside the usual developer and marketing crowd. Two coworking areas and a pool round out the daily routine.

The Space

A purpose-built coliving with pool, two coworking areas, a professional music studio, and communal spaces designed for both work and socialising. Peniche’s old town, harbour, and beaches are all accessible on foot or by bike.

Who It’s For

Creative remote workers — especially musicians, producers, and anyone who surfs. The combination of wave quality, music infrastructure, and a non-touristy Portuguese town is unique.

The Vibe

Early risers hit the waves at Supertubos or Baleal before work. Into one of the two coworking areas by 9-10. Lunch at a local tasca in Peniche's old town (5-8 EUR for a fish lunch). Afternoons split between work and surf checks. After hours, someone's always in the music studio, at the pool, or organizing a group dinner.

Surf trips up and down the coast (Ericeira, Nazaré for big wave watching), exploring the Berlengas Islands, wine tasting in the Oeste region, or day trips to Lisbon (1.5 hours).

Living in Peniche, Portugal

Peniche is a fishing town on a peninsula that juts into the Atlantic, about 90km north of Lisbon. It's Portugal's surf capital — the WSL Championship Tour stops here every year at Supertubos, and the coastline offers waves for every level from beginner to pro. Unlike Ericeira (which has been discovered and priced accordingly), Peniche still feels like a working Portuguese town.

Ferrel is the small village between Peniche and the beaches, where most of the surf camps and colivings are based. The cost of living is genuine Portuguese provincial: espresso 0.80-1 EUR, a fish lunch with wine at a local tasca 7-10 EUR, dinner at a good restaurant 12-20 EUR. The old town harbor has fish markets, traditional restaurants, and a fortress. Lisbon is 1.5 hours by bus. The Berlengas Islands (a nature reserve) are a 30-minute boat ride from the harbor.

Surf Supertubos

One of Europe's heaviest beach breaks — the WSL Championship Tour stop. For experienced surfers. Watching from the cliff is equally impressive.

Berlengas Islands

A tiny archipelago 30 minutes offshore by boat. Crystal water, a 17th-century fortress, and some of the best snorkeling on the Portuguese coast. Day trips from 20 EUR.

Peniche Old Town & Fortress

Walk the harbor, eat grilled sardines, visit the fortress (once a political prison), and watch the fishing boats come in at sunset.

The PipeDream Team

Founders

The music studio happened because we realized the creative energy in a surf town is wasted if the only outlet is coworking. Some of our best residents are producers who surf at dawn and record at midnight.

Common Questions

What's the WiFi like?

100 Mbps — solid for remote work. Two separate coworking areas give you options for quiet focus or more social working.

Room, coworking, WiFi, pool, communal kitchen, and music studio access. Surf equipment and lessons are extra.

How do I get there?

Bus from Lisbon Sete Rios station to Peniche — 1.5 hours, about 10 EUR. Or rent a car at Lisbon airport. The house is in Ferrel, between Peniche town and the beaches.

Do I need to be a musician to enjoy the studio?

Not at all. Plenty of residents never touch the studio. But if you've ever wanted to try producing, you'll find people happy to show you the basics.

What's the surf like for beginners?

Baleal and Consolação are great beginner beaches — gentler waves and sandy bottom. Supertubos is for experienced surfers only. There are surf schools in the area for lessons.
