The Home
Selina CoLive
Selina CoLive is a subscription-based coliving program that lets remote workers move between nearly 100 properties across Latin America, Europe, Africa, and beyond — all on a single monthly plan. Founded in 2015, Selina started as a boutique hostel chain before building out one of the largest coliving for digital nomads networks in the world, covering everything from beachfront surf towns to colonial city centers.
What It Is
The CoLive membership bundles accommodation and unlimited coworking access into one price. Members book their stays location by location within the Selina network, typically committing to a minimum of one month per destination. The model is built for people who want to keep moving without the friction of finding separate housing and workspace in each new city.
The Experience
Selina properties are known for their design and social energy. Common areas are built around connection — hammock lounges, rooftop bars, communal kitchens, and regular events like yoga classes, live music nights, film screenings, and local guided experiences. The guest mix at any given location tends to combine CoLive members with shorter-term hotel guests, which keeps the social scene lively and varied.
The Space
Each Selina location has a dedicated coworking space with high-speed internet, private call booths, and dedicated desks available for CoLive members. Accommodation ranges from private rooms with ensuite bathrooms to shared dormitory-style options at the budget end, which keeps the price range accessible. Properties are typically set in characterful buildings — converted mansions, former factories, colonial townhouses — rather than generic hotel blocks.
Who It Is For
Selina CoLive works well for nomads in the early-to-mid stage of location-independent work who want an affordable, social base in multiple countries without long-term commitments. The price range (from around EUR 325/month at the lower end) makes it one of the most accessible coliving programs available. It also suits experienced travelers who want the convenience of a global network with consistent infrastructure rather than building a new setup from scratch at each stop.
Location Highlights
Current active locations include Medellín, Colombia — one of South America’s most popular nomad hubs, known for its year-round spring climate, vibrant nightlife, and fast-growing tech scene — and Lisbon, Portugal, which offers a deep pool of remote worker community events, easy access to Atlantic surf, and a gateway into Southern Europe. The broader Selina network spans over 40 countries, making it one of the most geographically diverse options in the market.

Workspace
Work with a Global Network (100+ Properties) Rhythm
Fiber connection · 50+ Mbps
Every Selina property includes a dedicated coworking space with high-speed internet, private call booths, and dedicated desks for CoLive members.
The Vibe
There's no single daily rhythm — it depends on the property. Most Selina locations have yoga or fitness classes in the morning, a buzzing coworking space during the day, and events (live music, film nights, guest DJs) in the evening. The mix of CoLive members and short-stay guests keeps things social but unpredictable.
Properties run local experiences — surf lessons, guided hikes, cooking classes, city walks — that you can book through the Selina app. Weekends tend to be louder and more social than weekdays as short-stay guests arrive.
Living in Global Network (100+ Properties)
Selina's network spans over 40 countries, but the two anchor locations for CoLive members right now are Medellín and Lisbon. The density in Latin America is strongest — Colombia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, and Peru all have multiple properties — and Europe is growing with Lisbon, Porto, Athens, and Barcelona.
Medellín's Selina sits in the Poblado neighborhood, walking distance to Parque Lleras and the main restaurant strip. The city is one of the cheapest places to live well as a remote worker — a full lunch at a corrientazo costs 10,000-12,000 COP (about 2.50 EUR), a craft beer runs 8,000-12,000 COP, and an Uber across town rarely exceeds 15,000 COP. The year-round 24°C climate and low cost of living explain why half the nomad world seems to rotate through here.
Lisbon's Selina is in the heart of the city, plugged into a remote work scene that's been building since the mid-2010s. The CoLive membership here makes sense if you want a social base without signing a 6-month lease. Expect to spend 10-15 EUR on lunch, 3-5 EUR on a decent glass of wine, and around 300 EUR/month on groceries.
El Peñón de Guatapé (Medellín)
A massive rock with 740 steps to the top and panoramic views of the reservoir-studded Antioquia countryside. Two hours from the city.
Lisbon's Alfama District
The oldest neighborhood in the city — labyrinthine streets, fado bars, and miradouros with views over the Tagus. Best explored on foot without a plan.
Surf at Ericeira (Lisbon)
Europe's only World Surfing Reserve, 45 minutes from Lisbon by car. Consistent waves year-round with breaks for every level.

Really nice and charming hostel in the heart of Oaxaca! The staff are lovely, so welcoming and friendly and their English is great (my Spanish is not so good) The cocktail in the bar downstairs was one of the best contrails I’ve ever had. Highly recommend and it’s a great spot to meet people. The
Me encantó la ubicación, el servicio!!

Common Questions
What's the WiFi like?
50+ Mbps fiber at most properties. Dedicated coworking areas have the strongest signal. Call booths are available for video meetings where you need privacy and reliable audio.
What's included in the CoLive membership?
Accommodation and unlimited coworking access at your chosen property. Events and wellness classes at the property are usually free. Meals, laundry, and transfers are extra.
Can I move between properties?
Yes — that's the whole point. You book location by location within the Selina network. Availability varies by property, so book ahead for popular spots like Lisbon in summer.
How is this different from just booking a hostel?
The CoLive membership gives you dedicated coworking, a guaranteed desk, priority booking, and monthly pricing that's significantly cheaper than nightly rates. You're treated as a resident, not a guest.
What's the vibe like?
Social and energetic. Selina properties mix CoLive members with short-stay travelers, so the crowd rotates. If you want a quiet, intimate community, this might be too lively. If you like meeting new people constantly, it's ideal.
